To whom do I send my application?

If you are applying for a specific opening, the description will almost always include information on whom to contact. Otherwise, send your application to the HR department at the ThyssenKrupp subsidiary you would like to work at. If you are still not sure, just pick up the phone and get in touch with our key contacts – we are happy to point you in the right direction.

I would like to apply to more than one advertised position or location. What’s the best way?

You can apply directly to the individual subsidiary which interests you. Job openings will almost always include information on whom to contact.

Are unsolicited applications worth it? Should I apply exclusively to advertised opportunities?

We are always looking for talented people to support us in our work. So we are delighted to see individuals take the initiative and create their own opportunities when applying. Simply check our key contacts for the right addresses to send your application to.

I have a start date in mind – how far in advance should I apply?

As early as possible. The reasons: we need some time to review your application and start making initial selections. From experience, the whole application process can take 6-8 weeks until your start your work.

What happens during the application process?

In order for you to know the standard application process, please see this short overview:

- You apply with us, either for a specific job or unsolicited
- Your application is evaluated and forwarded internally, if necessary
- The HR department handling your application makes an initial selection and puts you
  on a short list
- As a suitable candidate, you will be contacted by us
- We maybe do a first phone interview
- You get invited to a job interview
- We further narrow down the list of candidates using different selection tools; if you are
  applying for a trainee position we also conduct an Assessment Center, if necessary
- The operating and HR departments in charge make a decision
- We make you an offer, a contract is signed, you start your work

Which application formats do you prefer?

You are more than welcome to send us a conventional application by mail, but a paperless application – by using our online form available through our key contacts – is much easier and faster, plus it is very clearly arranged. That is why we prefer the latter.

What makes a good application?

A good application consists of a cover letter, résumé, and up-to-date certificates. Even more importantly, it gives us a good picture of your expertise and character.
